ECOLOGICAL
BENEFITS: Due to its geographic location and proximity to the Laguna
Madre, there is a very diverse avifauna, with more than 140 bird
species among resident and migratory, as it is found within the
Central Migratory Corridor.
Its wetlands and extensive sinuous shorelines maintain very diverse
aquatic environments, whose function and value are very important,
especially for such waterfowl as the red-headed and spotted ducks
and other shore-birds.
